Southern Cross Pumphead are used for pumping form bores or wells when an engine driven plant is desirable or necessary, they are also used as auxiliary to wind mills for pumping when there is no wind.

The Southern Cross mark DJ Pumphead for overhead discharge is to pump into a tank 8 ft above the ground the Southern Cross mark DJ for low discharge is the same basic pumphead but for discharge near ground level
